Oops, our holiday card was a bit strange this year. The "Dear First Name and Spouse Name" that began the message in every card is quite an embarrassment. Janet wrote the first draft of the card then turned it over to me to clean it up, add the images and distribute the content appropriately over the five panels of the card. Well, I found out too late that she typed in the "Dear First Name and Spouse Name" rather than inserting the appropriate name fields for the merge. I never noticed and sent the cards thinking the merge was ready to go.
I hope all 146 recipients got a chuckle out of our error.Janet also decided that we would send all of the cards she purchased prior to my career move to SendOutCards. She has always been a prolific card-sender and had a huge stash of expensive cards that were growing stale in a too-small desk drawer were they languished with dimming hope of ever being sent. So, a number of loved ones got two holiday cards from us to wrap up the first decade of a new millennium. This seems to have confused folks who were already a bit rattled by the strange greeting of our holiday card/letter. What fun! That is all behind us now. Janet is grading final exams and preparing for classes to begin again soon. I am reflecting on the best SendOutCards year ever (the company doubled in size again in 2009) and gearing up for another banner year as SendOutCards explodes world-wide on its way to becoming a multi-billion dollar company. We wish everyone a prosperous and healthy new year.
