We have a $500 deposit with Aptera for a 2e. We made the deposit quite awhile ago. We know Robin Williams made the first deposit and we are number 2012. Many of the deposits will go toward the 2h which will not be available for another year, or two. The 2e is supposed to begin deliveries in October, 2009.
There have been a few design updates according to the latest newsletter. In that same newsletter the founder, Steve Fambro said, "And while Aptera NEVER condones unsafe driving on public roads, its low-drag-shape allows it to exceed 100 mph with only 23 HP and break 200 mph with just 150 HP. I can't confirm or deny that either of those has been done. All I can say is: this is a FUN vehicle to drive!" I guess they are putting a governor in to keep top speed at about 90 MPH.
